Our Story

Founded in 2021 in Hebei Province, Osa Technology (欧才科技) initially operated in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region of China before expanding to Finland in 2023. The company was established based on the founder's extensive experience as a business development consultant in China. Initially, Osa Technology focused on bridging the gap between local governments and Chinese SMEs, connecting them with international experts to provide consulting services and innovative technological solutions. The company specialized in wastewater management and energy efficiency for coal-fired and waste-to-energy power plants. In recognition of its contributions, Osa Technology was awarded the title of Hebei Provincial Workstation of Talents in both 2022 and 2023.
In 2020, prior to the official registration of Osa Technology, the founder was approached by several European SMEs with energy efficiency technologies looking to explore opportunities in the Chinese market. This led to the development of Osa Technology’s soft and active representation services for European SMEs. Over time, we established strong networks in China and gained expertise in technology solutions for energy-intensive industries, including power, steel, and cement, as well as in renewable energy, energy storage, and wastewater treatment and management.
As we assisted our clients to find partners and business opportunities in China, we developed a strong collaborative network with Chinese businesses and organizations that shared our passion for sustainability and global thinking. We now have 15 provincial & national level corporate, SOE and association partners in China to assist in the promotion and implementation of European expertise and technologies.

In 2023, several Chinese SMEs expressed interest in exploring market opportunities and expanding their operations in Finland and Europe. Additionally, two Chinese state-owned enterprises (SOEs) sought investment opportunities in European energy projects. In response to these needs, Nexus Finland Oy (auxilliary trade name Osa Technology) was officially registered in Finland in autumn 2023 and began operations in January 2024.
Since January 2024, Nexus Finland Oy has supported more than 15 clients with market entry, business development, strategic planning, and investment facilitation services. While our primary focus has been on the solar energy and energy storage sectors, we have also gained valuable experience in international arts, culture and education business sectors.
About the Founder
After nine years in China, Tara Joensuu returned to Finland at the end of 2023 and founded Nexus Finland. Driven by a deep passion for scaling proven applications and technologies for climate change mitigation and sustainability transitions, Tara specializes in sustainable business development and investment facilitation. She holds a strong educational foundation in sustainability and has accumulated extensive professional experience in business development.
During her time in China, Tara worked with a diverse range of stakeholders, including EU and Chinese SMEs, municipal and provincial governments, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and international organizations. Her work focused on energy, environmental sustainability, technology transfer, and foreign talent & international collaboration.
Since founding Nexus Finland, Tara has already supported over 15 foreign companies in entering and growing within the Finnish market. Her core expertise lies in sustainable transitions, stakeholder communication, business strategy, and project management.
